Welcome
to the Little Riveria, a three bedroom, one bath, fully furnished and equipped cottage
located in the beautiful New River Valley of Southwestern Virginia. The New River
Valley is nestled within the southern Appalachian Mountains and is home to two
major universities; Radford University, Radford Virginia and Virginia Tech, Blacksburg
Virginia. The area is surrounded by natural beauty and offers numerous outdoor
family-oriented activities.
The original riverside structure was built in circa 1900 as a general store and later expanded and converted, in the 1960's for use as a residence. The cottage and the adjoining barn (former blacksmith shop) were listed in the Virginia List of Landmarks on December 17, 1985 and in the National Register of Historic Places on January 7, 1987 as part of the Snowville Historic District. The front yard is bordered by 600 feet of frontage on the Little River; a clean, scenic river that drains 400 square miles of the northwestern slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains before joining the New River near Claytor Lake. The river is pristine, beautiful and the fishing is great! Plus, the guests at the Little Riveria have hunting rights on 73 acres of private land.
The 1464 square foot cottage is furnished with a queen bed in the master bedroom and full size beds in the second and third bedrooms. Plus, there is a roll-away bed that can be set up in the master bedroom or in the family room. The study is furnished with a love seat, reading light and bookcases with books. The huge family room (23'x23' w/10' ceilings) is furnished with a sofa, love seat, 10ft church pew, three coffee tables, numerous chairs and end tables, stereo system (of sorts), a DVD player, and a satellite TV. The bath includes a tub/shower combination. The kitchen has a stove/refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, cookware, dishes, and flatware. There is a telephone for local service and a washer/dryer/iron/ironing board. Linens, towels and a propane BBQ Grill are provided. Rental packages are as low as $105.00 per day for up to four guests (see the Rates Page).
